We started Santee Appliance Repairs because we believed there was room for a repair company that genuinely prioritised honesty over sales. That still drives how we work today.
Santee Appliance Repairs was established in Sheffield in 2012. Our founder, Marcus Webb, had spent several years working for a large national repair network and kept encountering the same frustrations — customers being told appliances were beyond repair when they weren't, vague pricing, and engineers rushing through visits without proper explanation.
Marcus set up Santee with a different approach: be honest about what's wrong, be clear about what it costs, and don't recommend a repair that isn't worth it. That straightforward philosophy has stayed with us as the business has grown.
Today we have three engineers working across Sheffield and South Yorkshire. We repair washing machines, fridges, freezers, ovens, cookers, and dishwashers, and we still operate with the same approach Marcus started with.
Santee Appliance Repairs founded
Marcus Webb begins trading as a sole engineer from the Woodseats area of Sheffield, focusing initially on washing machine and dryer repairs.
Second engineer joins the team
David Hollis joins Santee, bringing refrigeration expertise and allowing us to extend our service area across South Sheffield.
Expanded to oven and cooker repairs
Following increasing demand from customers, we formally added oven, cooker, and hob repair to our service offering.
Paul Rearden joins as field engineer
Our team grows to three engineers, reducing waiting times and giving us capacity to take on more of the South Yorkshire area.
Serving hundreds of households per year
We continue to operate with the same values we started with — clear communication, honest advice, and a guarantee on all work completed.
If an appliance isn't worth repairing, we'll tell you. We don't measure success by how many jobs we turn into repairs — we measure it by whether customers feel they were treated fairly.
We explain faults in plain language. You shouldn't need a technical background to understand what's wrong with your appliance or why a repair costs what it costs.
We're a small local business. If something goes wrong, you can reach us easily. We stand behind our work with a guarantee and a genuine commitment to putting things right.
We're happy to answer questions before you book. Call us or drop us a message.
