Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 10 March 2026

1. About these terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the website at santeeappliancerepairs.com and your engagement with Santee Appliance Repairs ("we", "us", "our") for appliance repair services. By using this website or booking our services, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

We reserve the right to update these terms periodically. The version published on this page at the time of your booking or use of the website will apply.

2. Our services

We provide domestic appliance repair services, primarily in the Sheffield area. Our services include diagnosis, repair, and advisory visits for washing machines, fridge-freezers, ovens, and cookers.

We do not guarantee that any appliance can be repaired — some faults may make repair impractical or uneconomical, and we will advise you honestly in such cases. Any diagnosis or estimate we provide is based on our professional assessment at the time of inspection; unforeseen complications identified during a repair may affect the final cost, and we will discuss these with you before proceeding.

3. Booking and appointments

Bookings are made by phone or via our online contact form. A booking is confirmed when we provide written or verbal confirmation of the date and time. We will make reasonable efforts to attend at the agreed time, but appointment times are estimates and may be affected by circumstances beyond our control (such as traffic, extended prior jobs, or emergency callouts).

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible — ideally with at least 24 hours' notice. We reserve the right to apply a cancellation charge where an engineer has travelled to an address and is unable to gain access or the appointment has been cancelled without reasonable notice.

4. Pricing and payment

Our pricing consists of a diagnostic visit fee plus the cost of any parts and labour involved in the repair. We will provide a clear estimate before any repair work commences. You are under no obligation to proceed with a repair following a diagnostic visit.

All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Payment is due upon completion of the repair unless otherwise agreed in advance. We accept payment by bank transfer, card, or cash.

Cost estimates provided before or during a visit are made in good faith based on available information. Where the scope of work changes materially from what was initially discussed, we will inform you of the revised cost and seek your agreement before continuing.

5. Your responsibilities

When booking a home visit, you are responsible for ensuring that:

  • A responsible adult aged 18 or over is present throughout the visit.
  • The appliance is accessible and there is sufficient space for our engineer to work safely.
  • You disclose any known hazards relevant to the property or the appliance.
  • Any information you provide about the fault or the appliance is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

6. Warranty on repairs

Parts supplied and fitted by us carry the manufacturer's warranty applicable to those components. Our workmanship is also covered — if a fault we have repaired reoccurs within a reasonable period and can be shown to result from our work rather than a separate or new fault, we will return to investigate at no additional call-out charge.

This warranty does not apply where the appliance has been misused, further modified, or damaged after our visit, or where a new or unrelated fault has developed.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you in connection with any repair or visit is limited to the amount you have paid us for that specific job. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of food in a fridge or freezer, loss of use of an appliance, or loss of income.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law.

8. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, images, and design — is the property of Santee Appliance Repairs or is used with permission. You may not reproduce, republish, or distribute any content from this website without our written consent.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Contact
